Learning objectives

  • At the end of the course the participants will know how to perform an ultrasound examination in a patient with known or suspected endometriosis,
  • recognize the typical ultrasound features of adhesions, endometriomas, and Deep Infiltrating Endometriosis (DIE), so that the extent of the disease can be determined with ultrasound
  • know how to describe ultrasound findings of endometriosis using a standardized terminology understand the role of ultrasound in the diagnosis and management of patients with endometriosis
  • understand the role of other imaging methods than ultrasound for determining the extent of endometriosis
  • be updated on current state of the art in the management of patients with endometriosis
  • have knowledge on the epidemiology and natural history of endometriosis including the effects of treatment and pregnancy, and the risk of malignant transformation
  • know how to recognize signs of malignancy in an endometrioma have knowledge on the effect of endometriosis on quality of life be updated on the need for future research in endometriosis
